Two major features for the Blue Raven are almost ready to release.
The photo on the left shows a screenshot of a test of the new ground test feature. Ever tried to trigger an ematch for a ground test and take a video of it at the same time? Not enough hands! The new Blue Raven ground test feature makes this easy and fun. Not only do you get to test your deployment charge with your rocket buttoned up in a flight-like way with no extra wires threaded out who knows where, but it automatically starts a short countdown while you frame your video, and then takes slow-motion video from T-2 seconds to T+ 3 seconds! And meanwhile, the Blue Raven treats the test as a short flight, so it records all the high-rate accelerometer and other data so you can quantify the effect of the charge if you're analytically inclined.
The second major new feature is the over-the-air download of the recorded flight data to your phone. The download will start automatically when you walk up to your rocket after the flight, and continue in the background while you can review the flight summary data. Once it's your phone, you can share the data as an Excel file in any of the ways that your phone is connected, including email, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc. We are still working out some kinks in the downloading and formatting, so I may do a separate release with the ground test feature first so it's available this week for anyone prepping for flights this weekend.
